Round up from Cork teams at National Feile na nGael 2018

This weekend, three teams traveled in hope to National Feile na nGael competition that has hosted from 8th to 10th June by Connacht GAA and assisted by Westmeath and Longford.

Cork Feile hurling winners, St.Finbarr’s (Premier winners), Watergrasshill (A winners) and Cloughduv (winners of ‘B’ competition) took their place at the event in Division 1, Division 3 and Division 6 respectively.

At the group stages, St.Finbarr’s won two out of three games.

St.Finbarr’s were knocked out of the cup section on scoring difference and went into the Shield knock-out stages of the tournament.

The tide then turned for the Togher side who re-grouped and got their programme again back on track winning both their Q-Final  and Semi-Final to book their place in the All-Ireland Shield Final.

In the final, the Cork side were too strong for Waterford side Ballygunner as the ‘Barrs ran out winners 2-11 to 0-2.

Feile na nGael Division 3 Group A

At the group stages, Watergrasshill came out on top with two wins and a draw from three games.

In the knock-out stages of the Cup section, Cork’s reps met their match when they lost to
Mt Leinster Rangers in the Semi-Final.

Feile na nGael Division 6 Group C

Cloughduv went three for three in the group stages with wins in all their games here.

Cloughduv journey in the championship came to the end at the Q-Final stage when they were beaten by two points by Annaghdown.

Rebel Og would also like to congregate Sarsfield on their three-in-a-row following their win on Sunday in the Division 1 Camoige final.

The county U15A football final between Bandon and Wolfe Tones will be played on Wednesday next 16th August at 8pm in Macroom. Wolfe Tones had some fine wins on their way to this final and will provide stern opposition for a Bandon aiming to complete the U15A double, having already defeated Youghal in the hurling decider.

The following are the groups for the  County Féile Hurling competitions which will be played on Saturday 21st April. Details of the timetables and venues are to follow early next week. The semi-finals and finals of these hurling competitions will be played on Friday 27th April at venues to be arranged.
