The Rebel Óg Premier 1 Minor Hurling final between Sarsfields and St Finbarr’s on Wednesday night could be one of the games of the season  and Examiner Sport will be streaming the final live on their website.

Coverage from a floodlit Páirc Ui Rinn will begin at 6.45pm with Colm O’Connor joined on commentary by Seanie McGrath and The Echo’s Eamonn Murphy, who has tracked the minor grade assiduously since the opening round. Our coverage is in association with Rebel Óg, the underage arm of Cork GAA.

Sars and the Barrs go head to head, having come through the revamped round-robin system unbeaten, before semi-finals wins over Ballincollig and Glen Rovers respectively.

There is serious hurling talent in both panels, while Cork U20 manager Pat Ryan is in charge of Sars, with Rebel icon Jimmy Barry-Murphy involved with Brian Hurley’s backroom team.

The Premier 1 and 2 MHC finals take place on Wednesday and Thursday night and spectators are asked to note that a very limited number of tickets will only be available through the clubs. No tickets are available at the ground on the night.

Cork GAA and Marymount Hospice are calling on people to GO RED for Cork on Wednesday next,  September 16, to mark the 30th anniversary of Cork winning the famous double All-Ireland win in 1990. As well as drive awareness of outstanding athletic achievement for the county.  This initiative aims to raise much needed charitable funds for Marymount Hospice.

To get involved we ask you to GO RED on the 16th September – either through wearing your jersey, red clothing or accessories or red up your remote office, school, home or car – and then donate to the campaign through the online campaign link – www.idonate.ie/goredforCork.

We ask that you share this message with your members and ask them to join our GAA community far and wide and remember our famous double in 1990. Please get creative, get involved, go red and donate.

In light of Covid-19 restrictions announced this week, Rebel Óg Coaching have decided to postpone our Go Games programme (U8- U11) due to start this Saturday,  August 22.
We will review this position after September 13. It is hoped once restrictions are eased and everyone has clarity around the guidelines for running games at this level that we will be able to resume countywide activity at this point.
Clubs may apply to participate in challenge games in the usual way once they comply fully with the guidelines around Covid-19 and Go Games rules.
We thank you all for your patience at this time and for the great work you are doing in your club in keeping everyone safe.
