Rebel Og Coaching Monster Blitz Programme for U11, U10 and U9's went live this week
Its that time of the year again and we at Rebel Og Coaching are delighted to announce the schedule for the coming year of our Monster Blitz Programme, our U9, U10 and U11 hurling and football leagues. The fixtures, rules and regulations for each of our age groups are all online. If you have any questions or queries regarding your team please read through the rules and regulations before sending an email as many of the questions that often pop up are answered there.
Last season, the U10 Monster Blitzes stopped mid summer and these clubs moved into a League structure for the remainder of the year. Following consultation with clubs, this program seemed to be of greater benefit and enjoyment to the mentors, parents and participating children.
With this in mind, we have decided to make it a year long league for U9 (only boys born in 2008 are eligible for this league, U8’s are not allowed as they will have blitzes the same days) and U10 teams in 2017, U8s and U7s will remain at the Monster Blitz stage.
If you have any queries about the leagues, we suggest you talk to the outgoing mentor from that age group last year in the club and he will fill you in on any information required before the regional meetings in March.
Last thing to note, U8, U9 and U10 matches are going to be scheduled for Saturday mornings, Monster Blitz at 10.15, U9 at 11am and U10 at 12.15pm, so pitches will be available at different times for games.
Every club is obliged to supply trained young referees for their home matches, so it is crucial that these referees are coached and mentored like the players in their development. Abuse of referees will not be tolerated and each club will be held accountable as per the guidelines of Rebel óg (Coiste na Nog Regulations 2016). We will hold training workshops for all referees before the league starts. It is imperative that each club has a young referee on hand for their home matches e.g. Douglas 3 teams are hosting Midleton 3 teams, Douglas need to provide 3 referees for the matches. So, Douglas will need to have at least 3 referees at the training Workshop. We would recommend that these referees get €10 from the home team for refereeing the match on the day.
